Freshly Ground is a neighbourhood specialty coffee shop tucked into the ground floor of the Marriott Executive Residences at Dubai Science Park, Al Barsha South. A South African, Greek-owned brother-and-sister venture, the cafe draws from three homes - the Mediterranean, South Africa, and the UAE - and is built around a simple idea: great coffee is a blend of many origins, people, and rituals, and every cup should taste like it was made on purpose.
We honour earthy ingredients, thoughtful craftsmanship, and the people who turn nature's bounty into beautiful treats. Our baristas pull espresso from seasonal single-origins and a signature house blend, pour filter coffees on rotation, and build velvet-textured cappuccinos and flat whites on full-fat, oat, and almond milk. Beans are available for retail - brewed fresh in store or bagged to take home.

Dogs welcome.
At Freshly Ground, pets are part of the community. We are delighted to welcome well-behaved dogs and their humans into our designated pet-friendly areas.
House rules
To keep the cafe safe, comfortable and hygienic for everyone, please follow these guidelines.
Dogs must be healthy, vaccinated, registered and accompanied by a responsible adult.
Dogs must remain on a short leash and under their owner's control at all times. Retractable leads should be kept locked short.
Dogs must remain on the floor. Please do not place them on chairs, benches, tables or counters.
Dogs are not permitted behind the service counter or in any food-preparation, food-storage, staff or exposed food display area.
Excessive barking, jumping, aggression or behaviour that disturbs other guests cannot be permitted. We may ask an owner to move outside or leave if their dog becomes disruptive or unsafe.
Please ask before allowing your dog to approach another pet, adult or child. Not every guest or animal is comfortable with close contact.
Dogs must not block entrances, walkways, emergency exits or access to other tables.
Owners are responsible for their dog's behaviour and for any injury or damage caused by their pet.
Freshly Ground reserves the right to limit the number of dogs in the cafe or refuse entry when necessary for safety, hygiene or customer comfort.
Access to indoor and outdoor areas remains subject to applicable authority and building-management requirements.
Please use the dedicated pet bowls provided. Human crockery, glasses, cutlery and serving equipment must not be used for pets.
Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs. If an accident happens, please notify a team member immediately so the area can be properly cleaned and sanitised.

Yes, there is a full all-day menu. Expect sourdough croissants, all-day breakfasts, power protein bowls, wraps and sandwiches, savoury Greek pies, a kids' corner, plus Greek desserts like bougatsa, portokalopita, and revani.

Yes, the menu leans Greek and Mediterranean. Strapatsada scrambled eggs with feta, a Greek breakfast with koulouri bread, spanakopita and tiropita pies, a grilled chicken souvlaki wrap, and traditional desserts like bougatsa and portokalopita are all on offer.
